Greetings from the Pacific Power Association (PPA)!!   

The PPA Secretariat is pleased to provide you with the summary information on this year’s 30th Annual PPA Conference and Trade Exhibition, which is hosted by Commonwealth Utilities Corporation, in Saipan from the 25-28 September 2023.

The PPA Conference will offer delegates a combination of speeches, donor presentations, technical presentations, Utility Board Members workshop and the Trade Exhibition of products and services by our suppliers. Each year the conference gains more participants and it is the largest energy conference in the region, focusing on all aspects of electricity in the Pacific Islands. The 29th Conference held in Brisbane, Australia was attended by 160 delegates with 27 trade booth displays.

CONFERENCE THEME
This year’s Conference theme, as agreed by the utility Executive Committee Members at the 2023 Executive Committee Meeting, will be “Technology and Finance Readiness for a Green, Sustainable and Resilient Power System Network”. The program for the week will be another success if delegates contribute positively to the Call for Papers and provide suitable topics for the conference in line with the conference theme. The contents of your contributions will ensure our conference is timely, relevant, and stimulating.

REGISTRATION FEES:
Application for registration must be made online on the PPA Website. Payment of fees is to be made in US Dollars payable to: Pacific Power Association. See registration form for options of payment methods.

  • Attendance at all sessions
  • Registration kit and papers
  • Invitation to all sponsored functions
  • Invitation to the Conference Dinner
  • Transportation to all official conference activities

ACCOMPANING SPOUSE, PARTNER, AND CHILD REGISTRATION:
The Registration fee for Accompanying Spouse is US$160.00.

Accompanying children 12 years or older is US$60.00.

It is important that you register your spouse/partner and child to attend the conference to avoid disappointment.  Their registration will cover:

  • Attendance at all sessions
  • Invitation to all sponsored functions
  • Invitation to the Conference Dinner
  • Transportation for field trips

CANCELLATION PENALTY:
NIL

DELEGATES REGISTRATION:
Delegates will be able to Register and collect all conference kits and papers on Sunday 24 September 2023 at the Crowne Plaza Resort, Saipan from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.

ACCOMMODATION BOOKING POLICIES:
Individuals are responsible for making their own reservations. Details for accommodation are provided in the respective hotels page. Reservations will not be confirmed without credit card guarantee or deposit.

ACCOMMODATION AND TRAVEL: Accommodation for all delegates is available at the Crowne Plaza Resort, Saipan. All accommodation reservations are to be reserved as soon as your participation is confirmed. Airport transfers are provided upon request and payment is to be made at the hotel.

UTILITY CONFERENCE PACK
All Active Utility Members are required to provide the PPA Secretariat a written Utility/Country Report.   This Report is to be received at the Secretariat no later than 31 July 2023

This Report should be no more than two (2) pages and include the following:

  • the operation of the utility in brief
  • the major highlights of utility activities
  • the summary of projects under implementation
  • a list of projects under planning
  • a list of major tenders, bids, contracts, consultancy, major purchases, and other services to be sourced externally over the next 12-month period and
  • current organization chart with listing of incumbent Board and Management personnel

NOTE: 
To create a database for the future the PPA Secretariat would appreciate it if this report were provided to the Secretariat on a USB or emailed to ppa@ppa.org.fj.

Annual Utility Statistics

The Annual statistical returns (form included) must be completed and attached to the Utility/Country Report.

Two (2) copies of the following documents if produced annually should be included in the Conference pack:

  • Annual Report
  • Corporate Plan
  • Engineering / Development Plan
  • Financial Plan
  • Annual Financial Statements

Utility Magazine & Newsletters
Two (2) copies of the Utility magazine and Newsletters should be included in the Conference pack.
