DESCRIPTION:Northern Pacific Utilities – June 20th – June 28th Pohnpei\, FSM \nSouthern Pacific Utilities – July 2nd – July 10th Apia\, Samoa \nOne of the main objectives of the Sustainable Energy Industry Development Project is to increase the capacity of PPA member utilities to increase and manage renewable energy technologies. As part of Component 2 of the project\, a program of activities has been designed to increase capacity within the PPA member utilities on planning for and management of the integration of variable RE in their systems. \nA Training Needs Assessment carried out recently by the PPA has identified a number of priority areas amongst the utilities where there is a need to build up the capacity of its staff. In light of this\, the PPA through the SEIDP will carry out a series of workshops to address some of these training needs. \nThe PPA with the support of the Pohnpei Utility Corporation and the Samoa Electric Power Corporation will be running a training workshop for the Northern Pacific utilities from June 20th – June 28th in and a corresponding workshop for the Southern Pacific Utilities from July 2nd – 10th 2018. \nThe workshops will cover the following: \n\nOperation\, maintenance and management of Solar PV installations including storage; and\nDesign and specifications of SCADA systems for integrating Renewable Energy generators.\n\n
