PPA Would Like to Welcome
Andrew Daka joins the PPA as the Senior Adviser - Power Sector position which is funded by the U.S. Department of Interior. Andrew Daka is not new to the PAcific Power Association family he was the General Mamager for Solomon Islands Electricity Authority almost 3 years and a PPA Board Member before joining PPA.
The Senior Adviser position will provide power sector engineering services working with and for the benefit of the ten power utilities in the Northern Pacific ISlands that are affliated with the United States. These Islands comprise the U.S. Territory of Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), the Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and the U.S. Territory of Amercian Samoa.
Andrew Daka was employed for almost 22 years with the Solomon Island Electricity Authority and he has served in the following position Graduate Engineer, Planning Engineer, Distribution Engineer, Manager Distribution, Chief Engineer, Deputy General Manager and General Manager.
Andrew is looking forward to taking up this new position at the PPA Secretariat and is keen to visit and work with the staff of these northern utilities in the overall plan of improving the performance of these power utilities.
Andrew Daka graduated from PNG University of Technology, Lae, Papua New Guinea with a Bachlor of Engineering (Electricial Engineering) and the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane,Australia with Bachlor of Engineering (Electricla and Computer Engineering)
