Accommodation for delegates (150 Rooms) has been block booked/reserved at the Edgewater Resort & Spa.

The Edgewater Resort and Spa is approximately 3kms from the Rarotonga International airport and 6.5kms from Avarua, the Capital CBD of Rarotonga.

Late check out:Permitted up to 6.00pm without additional charge based on space availability. Checkout after 6.00pm will be charged a full rate of $95.00. Guests are advised to enquire at the front desk for clarification.

Early check in: To guarantee early check in, the room must be pre-booked and prepaid at least one (1) day prior to arrival.

Accommodation booking policies
Individuals are responsible for making their own reservations using theEdgewater Reservation Form provided.

Reservations will not be confirmed without credit card guarantee or deposit.

The following cancellation policy will be enforced: -
Cancellations made between: -

• 0 – 7 days : Full cancellation fees will apply
• 8 – 14 days: 75% cancellation fee will apply
• 15 – 30 days: 50% cancellation fees will apply
• 30 – 45 days: 25% cancellation fee will apply
• 45 – 60 days: No cancellation fees

Full charges will be made for all NO SHOW and bookings will be cancelled thereafter.

The resort accepts all major credit cards including; Visa, Master, American Express.

Ground Transportation to and from Rarotonga International Airport & between the conference venues

It is important for all delegates to inform the Secretariat of their arrival and departure times to Rarotonga so the host utility, TAU, are informed of your arrival times in order for them to meet and transport you to the Edgewater Resort. Please fill in the Accommodation & Travelform once your travel details are confirmed and forward it to PPA.

During the week, a shuttle service will be available to transport delegates between the two official conference venues. A schedule will be made available to all registered delegates during the conference week.

Los Angeles-Rarotonga
In August there will be only one flight (on Sundays) which will operate directly from Los Angles to Rarotonga and return to LA on Saturdays.  The flight details are as follows;

In addition to the above, please note there are daily flights from Los Angeles to Auckland which can connect to the Auckland – Rarotonga flights.

Australia-Rarotonga
There are currently no direct flights from Australia to Rarotonga but it is advisable that delegates should check with their travel agents closer to date.

There are also daily flights from Australia to Auckland which can connect to the Auckland-Rarotonga flights.

Immigration & Visa Requirements
When filling in the Immigration Form provided to you on your flights, please indicate you are visiting Rarotonga for Business purposes.

Visas

• New Zealand citizens do not require passports for stays upto 31 days, but will need passports to re-enter New Zealand
• All visitors will be granted 31 days visas upon arrival
• All visitors must hold a valid passport and possess an onward air
• An extension may be granted on a monthly basis for up to 3 months. This is a available on application to the local Immigration Department.

Departure tax can be purchased from the Westpac Bank at the International Terminal (open for all international flights), or at the Westpac Bank in Avarua.

Customs
No duty is levied on clothing or personal effects (including sports equipment). In addition, each visitor may bring the following items free of duty into the Cook Islands;

200 cigarettes, or up to 250 grams of tobacco, or up to 50 cigars, 2 liters of spirits of wines, or 4.5 liters of beer. Goods in excess of NZ$250 are liable for duty.
